Add Your Business
There's a new venture brewing in Pembrokeshire – and it comes with both caffeine and cocktails.
The Boozy Bean is a coffee and cocktail trailer being brought to life by two friends, Chloe and Ellie. What started as a joke between colleagues has turned into a full-blown business, complete with a trailer currently being renovated in Chloe's garden and big plans for events across the county and beyond.
We sat down with the duo to find out more about the journey so far, the challenges they've faced, and what lies ahead for The Boozy Bean.
How did The Boozy Bean come about?
It started as a joke between two friends at work – and now we have an actual trailer sat in Chloe's garden and a real business! We're currently in the process of renovating our trailer, with absolutely no idea what we're doing half the time, and getting everything ready to launch. We're documenting the whole journey on our socials, from DIY disasters and questionable decisions to eventually serving coffee and cocktails at events around Pembrokeshire and beyond.
What's been the biggest challenge so far?
Renovating the trailer has definitely been the biggest challenge. Neither of us had done anything like it before, so we've had to figure things out as we go. The hatches have caused plenty of problems and have become a bit of a running joke!
Any funny moments along the way?
There have been loads! The hatch situation is definitely one of the biggest. Chloe is also constantly losing things, which isn't ideal when we're trying to run a business. One of the funniest was opening up a sealed door on the trailer – it took us basically the whole day, only for us to decide a week later that we didn't actually like it and seal it back up again. A lot of effort for absolutely nothing!
What are your plans for the launch?
We don't have an exact launch date yet. We're currently getting the trailer finished and, as soon as it stops looking like a building site, we'll be up and running! We're hoping to take The Boozy Bean to events around Pembrokeshire and further afield. We'd particularly love to get into weddings, as well as parties, festivals and other events.
What are your long-term goals for the business?
We want The Boozy Bean to become more than just a coffee and cocktail trailer. We want to connect with people and build a community around it.
As Chloe is studying Psychology with Counselling, she’d love to eventually bring a mental health side into the business too, creating a safe, welcoming space where people can come together, meet others and feel comfortable talking, especially people who might be struggling or feeling alone.
We’d also love to eventually run our own free community events and create something that genuinely gives back to the local community.
Anything else you'd like to add?
We've had loads of support from our families and friends, who have all been dragged into helping at some point! We're documenting the journey on social media and want people to see the real process – not just the finished product.
Follow The Boozy Bean on Facebook and Instagram for all the trials, tribulations and updates as Chloe and Ellie head towards launching their business. We can't wait to see them out and about serving up coffee and cocktails at events across Pembrokeshire!
