Pembrokeshire Cricket Division One Roundup - 15th August 2026

Saundersfoot (223-6) beat Lawrenny (111ao) by 112 runs to crown themselves champions of Division 1. Lawrenny won the toss and chose to bowl, Ryan Morton (2-43) and Oscar Lewis (2-32) the damage dealers in their attack. However, they could do little to stop Tom Mansbridge (112) as he added another century to the family tally this season. Nick Cope (43) and Sam Franklin (34) backed him up, working their side into an exciting position with the league on the line. Tom Mansbridge (3-7), Jon Mansbridge (3-17) and Ollie Cook (3-16) did an effective job at putting down the chase before it could get close, efforts from Oscar Lewis (27) and Charlie Arthur (19) ultimately unable to play spoiler to Saundersfoot being crowned Champions.

Herbrandston (121-2) beat Whitland (118ao) by 8 wickets in a rapid chase. Whitland won the toss and batted first, Matthew Davies (29) and Gethin Scourfield (24) the main contributors in an overall poor total. Robert Hood (4-30), Harry Nicholas (3-12) and Dean John (2-36) shared in the haul to present their batsmen with a relatively simple day at the office. That it was as Charlie Malloy (53) and Jack Nicholas (22no) lead the line in a chase that only lasted 10 overs and only lost two wickets – taken by Gethin Benjamin (1-7) and Wayne Howells (1-20) respectively.

Narberth (313ao) beat Burton (238-9) by 75 runs in a high-scoring contest. Narberth won the toss and batted first, Jamie McCormack (96) the key man, Rhodri Dyer (42), Llew Jones (39), Lewis Hough (38) and Jordan Howell (35) all contributing to a commanding total. Burton’s bowlers were not without success, Jon Scale (2-34), Morgan Scale (2-62), Luke Hayman (2-63) and James Davies (2-78) all picked up two wickets each to see their opponent off in spite of their huge total. Burton batted valiantly in the chase, Toby Hayman (76) and Dan Ridge (29) giving their team a platform. The mountain proved too big to climb however, as Llew Jones (3-30) and Ryan Williams (2-65) did the business with the ball to seal their win with relative comfort.

Carew (210ao) beat Neyland (135ao) by 75 runs. Neyland won the toss and elected to field, Carew batting first and posting 210ao, Brian Hall (52) and Morgan Grieve (50) putting up over 100 between them. Jack John (3-29), Ross Hardy (2-30) and Tom Pritchard (2-38) bowled well, managing to fully dismiss Carew short of an unreachable total. Reach it they did not however as Noah Davies (3-9), James Hinchcliffe (2-23) and Logan Hall (2-39) worked to bowl Neyland well short of challenging the total. Efforts from Ross Hardy (23), Dai Davies (21) and Paul Murray (19) proved to not be enough to get their side over the line.

Cresselly (187-5) beat out St Ishmaels (185ao) by 5 wickets. St Ishmaels won the toss and batted first, Thomas Williams (51) and Steve Williams (37) giving their side something to work with. Fate was not on their side however as Tom Murphy (5-41) ripped through 5 batsmen to keep St Ishmaels quiet. Backup from Christian Phillips (3-33) and Mike Shaw (2-33) saw Cresselly head into a chase that they no doubt favoured themselves in. In reply, Kyle Quartermaine (52) and Griff Jenkins (50) anchored the innings, Tom Murphy (27) also contributing. The pick of St Ishmaels bowlers were Steve Williams (2-28) and Thomas Williams (1-27), though their side was unable to force enough wickets through to inhibit the chase.

Division One Table (after Week 17): Saundersfoot win the title with 301 points, followed by Carew (271), Herbrandston (241), Cresselly (235), Neyland (202), Burton (160), Narberth (157), Lawrenny (147), St Ishmaels (139) and Whitland (105).
