Carew (286-7) eased past Cresselly (138ao), winning by 148 runs. Carew won the toss and batted first, Brian Hall (99) and Gareth Lewis (53) putting on a superb partnership, Jacob Knox adding 25. Griff Jenkins (2-53) and Tom Arthur (2-80) bowled effective but expensive spells, with Tom Arthur seeing off both of Carew’s top scorers. Cresselly struggled to get off the mark in reply, Lewis Mason (28) and Nielson Cole (23no) the two batsmen to score more than 20. Shaun Whitfield (4-61) saw the middle order off, Iori Hicks (2-26) and Logan Hall (2-11) sharing in the wickets to bowl Cresselly out for 138.
Burton (230-3) beat out Whitland (229-7) by 7 wickets. Whitland won the toss and batted first, Che Thomas (54no), Gethin Scourfield (44), Scott Newton (30) and Matthew Davies (24) forming the spine of Whitland’s double century total. They were met in their efforts by Jon Scale (2-34) and Jack Davies (3-60), who prevented the middle order from kicking on to unreachable heights. In reply, Toby Hayman (81no) and Nic Jones (59no) proved tenacious, steadily dragging their side over the 200 mark. Scott Newton (1-59) and Matthew Davies (1-42) were the pick of their sides’ bowling, though Whitland were unable to prevent Burton getting home with seven wickets to spare.
Lawrenny (109-5) beat Neyland (103ao) by 5 wickets in a strong team performance. Lawrenny won the toss and elected to bowl, Charlie Arthur (2-19), Ryan Morton (3-22), Noah Williams (2-12) and Rob Williams (2-13) sharing the wickets to bowl Neyland out for just over 100. Sean Hannon (26), Andrew Miller (23no) and Paul Murray (22) were the only three Neyland batsmen to score more than 10. After teas, Charlie Arthur (31) and Rhys Daley (34no) set off to chase the total quickly, Will Nicholas and Troy Purslowe (12) assisting. Jack John (2-35) and Alan Webster (1-8) bowled well, but they ultimately did not have a big enough total to defend as Lawrenny won the game with 20 overs to spare.
Saundersfoot (272ao) beat Narberth (146ao) by 126 runs to maintain their lead at the top. Saundersfoot won the toss and batted first, Tom (77) and Jon Mansbridge (58) putting on an impressive display. Sam Franklin (37) and Simon Stanford (25) added useful runs to put Saundersfoot in a commanding position. Lewis Hough (4-42) was the pick of the Narberth bowling. In reply, Jamie McCormack (48) and Kyle Williams (25) gave Narberth some hope, Rhodri Dyer chipping in with 19, but Tudor Hurle (3-34), Jon Mansbridge (3-33) and Ollie Cook (2-26) shared the wickets to bowl them out well short of the target.
Herbrandston (219ao) beat St Ishmaels (141ao) by 78 runs. Herbrandston won the toss and batted first, Jack Nicholas (58) the standout performer, Charlie Malloy (29), Robert Hood (26) and Harry Nicholas (25) also contributing. Andrew Pawlett (4-28), Brennan Devonald (2-24) and Steve Williams (2-38) bowled well, allowing Herbrandston a strong, but not unattainable total. though St Ishmaels never looked particularly close in the chase. Despite the Pawlett family showing well – Jonathan Pawlett (51) and Andrew Pawlett (45) – the rest of the side languished below 10 runs. An impressive 5fer from Nathan Banner (5-53) and support from Charlie Malloy (2-31) proved too much for the St Ishmaels batting attack, who fell short by 78 runs in the 35th over.
