Just over a month since opening its doors, The Pembrokeshire Chocolate Co has already established itself as Haverfordwest's must-visit destination for chocolate lovers. Tucked away in Unit 3 of Cartlett Office Park, just down from the popular Spud Box and opposite the train station, this charming micro chocolate factory has been winning hearts with its freshly made chocolate-covered strawberries.
Founded by couple Ieuan and Lowri, the business operates from their kitchen base using a distinctive chocolate tap that pours out luxury Belgian chocolate to coat fresh strawberries. Customers can choose between small (£4.00) and large (£6.00) strawberry cups, each generously covered in the company's signature Belgian chocolate.
Customers can customise their own cup with their extensive range of toppings and sauces. The menu features an impressive selection of crowd-favourites including Biscoff sauce drizzle, white hazelnut Kinder sauce drizzle, white chocolate drizzle, pistachio Dubai sauce drizzle, and salted caramel sauce drizzle - all priced at just 50p each. For those seeking extra indulgence, toppings such as Biscoff crumb, Oreo crumb, mini Smarties, mini marshmallows, fudge cubes, and freeze-dried raspberry pieces are also available at 50p per addition.
The business has gained particular attention for its weekly specials, often surveying their fans via social media to come up with their next creation, offering creative variations like Kinder Bueno cups, Milky Way and caramel cups featuring combined caramel chocolate, and Rolo-inspired treats. Furthermore, there are plans to introduce more sweet treats such as crepes and coffees.
Customer testimonials speak volumes about the quality and service. Kaiden Hoadley, who has a chocolate allergy, praised the owners' willingness to accommodate dietary requirements, describing the experience as "absolutely beautiful" and earning the business a full five-star rating. Melanie Anne Davies highlighted the "great treat at a great price" with "lots of chocolate sauce", and although I am admittedly not the world's biggest strawberry fan, I too was blown away by the incredible chocolate.
The location, has become part of the charm, as the bustling Haverfordwest food scene continues to grow thanks to the innovation of exciting new businesses. Visitors are directed to follow signs to Haverfordwest train station car park, turning left after the car wash, where they'll find the chocolate factory just a few doors down from Spud Box.
"We're absolutely delighted that people are loving our chocolate so much," the couple shared. "We can't wait for another half term of welcoming customers both old and new down to see us."
The Pembrokeshire Chocolate Co accepts both card and cash payments, making visits convenient for all customers.
