Pembrokeshire Hockey Club has enjoyed a remarkable season across both senior and junior leagues, showcasing their growth and competitiveness. The increase in junior membership has allowed the club to participate in a wider array of tournaments and matches, leading to several young players being selected to represent the county. This surge in participation not only highlights the club's commitment to developing talent but also strengthens the overall team dynamics as juniors gain valuable experience on the field.

The ladies' first team had an impressive run, finishing second in the league and securing promotion to Premier 1 of the South Wales Women's Hockey League. Captain Alys Silcox reflected on the season, praising the team's dedication and teamwork, which she described as "incredible." With most of their matches taking place in Cardiff, the team faced tough competition but consistently rose to the challenge, demonstrating their skill and resilience throughout the season.

Meanwhile, the ladies' second team made significant strides this year, showcasing their potential and determination on the pitch. With the addition of several junior players, the squad found their rhythm and delivered some outstanding performances, culminating in a fifth-place finish in the league and a victory in the SWWL Division 4/5 cup.

Men's Captain Scott Lewis expressed pride in the team's achievements, noting that they not only finished fourth in their league but also successfully completed all their fixtures. The emergence of junior talent has been a highlight, with many young players excelling and contributing to the team's success.

Congratulations to the members who represented Wales this season: Emrys Plant, Kat Watkins, Elaine Scale, Becky Thomas, and Finn Macare. This is an incredible accomplishment, and the club is extremely proud of all your hard work.

If you're interested in playing hockey, we're on the lookout for more senior female and male players to join our team. We practice at Pembroke Astro Turf on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 PM and at Haverfordwest Sports Village on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9 PM.
