Pembroke Dock (116-4) remain in pole position at the top of Division 3 after a 6 wicket win up the road at near neighbours Hundleton & Wallaston (115-8). Wicketkeeper Scott Griffiths led the way for the Dockers with an unbeaten 57, Craig Williamson taking 3-28 for the village side. Prior to tea spinner Rhys Daley snaffled 2-19 to restrict the run scoring, Evan Davies unbeaten on 46 and veteran Jonathan Williams scoring 23.

Close behind in the pursuit of the Albert Scourfield Cup are Fishguard & Goodwick (113-2) after their 8 wicket win at Tregoes Park over visitors Bosherston & Stackpole (110ao). Skipper Scott Delaney lost the toss but he then took the game by the scruff of the neck with 3-36 alongside new ball bowler Rob Couzens (2-14) before his father Nigel took 2-7. The visitors runs came from stalwart Lewys Gibby, the Narberth scrum half posting 44 for the Lillies. The Delaney’s also featured with the bat after tea, Nigel unbeaten on 46 and Scott, 26 when the game was won, former Narberth batsman Kial Keen contributing 28.

Third placed Lamphey (160-2) defeated hosts Kilgetty (158ao) at Kingsmore, opening batsman David Dredge unbeaten on 84 and Rob Mathias also notched a red inker in Helen Hodges and Becki Badhams book, with 39. Ryan Cooper took the wickets in his 2-18, David Blackwell having scored 22 to back up his 4-33 before tea. Peter McGilloway with 3-23 also performed well with the ball for the Stags, former Lawrenny and Cresselly all-rounder Simon Cole scoring 49 as did his teammate Richard Webb49, another veteran in Geoff Marsh added 36.

Bottom of the table Hook II and Laugharne have their fixture re-scheduled for Sunday (Aug 17), Neyland II (122ao) occupying the second relegation place after they were defeated at the Athletic Ground by 41 runs, Haverfordwest II (163-9) the visitors. Veteran Nigel Morgan laid claim to the man of the match award with 35, Tim Field adding an unbeaten 23, for the All Whites, Rodney Murphy (2-23), Martin Lewis (2-29) and Evan Roberts (2-38) the successful bowlers.

Lewis scored 23 in the reply, teenager Leo Power, who was a triumphant captain the night before as he lead his side into the Ormond Cup Final (v Cresselly on Sunday Aug 10) scoring 31 and skipper John Tennick top scoring with 42, the wily Morgan taking 4-9 alongside Wales Disability international bowler, Kieran Williams (2-28) for the Town.

Pembroke II (275-2) maintain a healthy lead at the top of Division 4 of 33 points in their race for the Rowland Jones cup after they defeated Haverfordwest III (128-8) by 147 runs on the Lower Racecourse. Opening batsman Wil Davies pummelled six maximums and sixteen boundaries in his 131 before he was caught by Gareth Fair off teenage spinner George Twigg, Kos Dammitry the other successful wicket take for the Town as he bowled Gareth Long (85;2x6;12x4) after an opening stand of 194. Wicketkeeper James Tomkinson added an unbeaten 27 (2x4). Veteran Richard Davies top scored with 39 (6x4), opening partner Syed Bokhari contributing a hearty 26 (1x6;3x4) alongside double figure scorer from youngster Twigg, Ethan Blockwell and Albie Carrick-Birtwell. The Pembroke wickets were shared around, Hassan Amiz (2-14) and Rob Hearn (2-9) the pick of the visitor’s attack.

Saundersfoot II (53-3) hold the second promotion place after they accounted for bottom of the table visitors to the King George V Field, Narberth II (48ao). Sam Jospeh (5-8), Kevin Sykes (3-19) and Josh Samuel (2-3) the central characters with the ball, only skipper Ceri Davies with 29 (1x6;4x4) standing tall in double digits for the Barmy Army where five batsman recorded ducks. Iori Richards was unbeaten on 23 with a brace of sixes and fours in his ten ball innings for the Seasiders, Narberth wicket taker was new ball bowler, Mike Reekie with 3-28.

St Ishmaels (181-2) continue to have an interest in the promotion race as they defeated third from bottom Llangwm II (180ao) by 8 wickets at Pills Park. Veteran all-rounder made a starring appearance for the ‘Three Salmons’ on his visit back to his home county, striking three maximums and ten boundaries in a 48 ball 71, assisted by Callum Jenkins (39;7x4) 94 for the third wicket. Veterans Mike Willaims (17; 2x4) and Darren Brick (18; 3x4) alongside wicketkeeper Jake Thomas (16; 2x4) ensured a total was posted, opening bowler, teenager Maddox Bradshaw taking 3 wickets and veteran Kevin Bowen showing his guile with 4-22.

Skipper Stuart Carpenter showed his international for with a 76 ball unbeaten 118, which featured four shots over the boundary ropes and fifteen across the floor, adding 97 in an unbroken third wicket partnership with teenager Ollie Rees (27no; 4x4). Carpenter and opening batsman Lenny Reed (24;3x4) added 83 for the second wicket, spinner Callum Jenkins taking an early wicket with the new ball and John also successful with the ball to ensure he enjoyed his day ‘back home’.

Llanrhian II (89ao) remain 5 points adrift of Llangwm in the second relegation place after an 8 wicket defeat at Preseli School, over hosts Crymych (94-2). Opening batsman Tony Kitchell (13;2x4) and wicketkeeper Fraser Watson (5;2x4) added 28 for the first wicket, the only other significant score for the Cows being from Ninja Prabath (17;1x6;1x4) as Elis Williams with 2-23 and Nitai Durey (3-6) made a telling impact with the ball. Sion Vaughan led the path to victory with a six and seven boundaries in his unbeaten 56 from 45 balls after skipper Steff Williams opened the innings with 18 (2x4), a wicket apiece for Mike Lawrence and veteran ‘Grimsby Growler’ Rick Walton.

The final game took place between Carew III (171-9) and close rivals Lawrenny II (172-2) at the Castle Ground. The visiting Gavanyards attack shared the wickets, Tom Lewis taking 2-22 and Luke Cole 2-19, the Rooks total indebted to a swashbuckling 37 from Elliot Waters, which featured six sixes and a four, alongside a more morbid 33 (5x4) from former Lamphey ace run gather, veteran Gareth Lewis.

Rhys Eynon struck fourteen boundaries and a brace of sixes in his 84 as part of a 157 run opening partnership alongside Steve Campbell (67; 4x6;5x4) to ensure victory was achieved 22 overs, Ianto Hicks and Simon Gronow the Rooks wicket takers.

With league leaders Herbrandston II (210-5) winning the Connect: Pembrokeshire featured match by 84 runs over Hundleton & Wallaston II (126-6) they hold a 22 point lead over Llechryd II (195-6) for the Einion Richards Cup after the north county side lost by 8 wickets to Cresselly III (196-2) at the RDM Oval. Phil Carter %2) and teenager Evan Lewis (54) were the key run gatherers before tea, the Doves Rhys Barnes taking 4-40. Tom Rowlands with an unbeaten 82 alongside David Arthur (52) and Rhydian Rees (25) ensured an emphatic victory to dent the championship hope for the hosts.

Pembroke Dock II (213-1) prowl in a challenging third position after an 84 run win at Imble Lane over visitors Haverfordwest IV (128ao). Opening batsman Luke Murray calculated his batting well to finish on 100no and Richard Scourfield added an unbeaten 82. The Town response was led by Mohammed Asher with 44, Johnnie Hay (4-23), Phil Scott (3-17) and Brdley manning (1-12) saw the Dock to their ninth win of the season.

Bottom of the table Neyland III (138ao) lost their home encounter on the artificial wicket at the Athletic Ground to Whitland III (139-7) by 3 wickets. Josh Owens top scored for the ‘All Whites’ with 81, Ben Barton taking 4-29, Mat Driver 3-18 and Steve Davies 2-3 for the Borders with the ball. Teenager Cian Riley (2-28) and veteran Jon Coles (2-15) couldn’t prevent the away side taking the points, as Craig Wade (34) and Ben Jones (19) were the key batsman.

The Ashton Cup for the winners of Division 6 seems to be heading to Pembroke III (188-6) as they defeated the combined Haverfordwest & Cresselly side (93-9), albeit the majority of the XI were Doves players, on the Upper Racecourse by 95 runs. The Pembroke scorecard runs were shared between Murahari Ethirajalu (35;3x4), Harry Peniket (24;2x4), Jack Davies (29;3x4), Toby Bradley-Robson (17;3x4), wicketkeeper Steve Mitchell (15;2x4) and teenage top scorer Ollie Donohoe (38; 5x4), veteran all-rounder Lyn Richards with 2-14 and Josh Richards 2-32 the most successful bowlers from their seven over allocation.

Wicketkeeper and captain Neil Lewis put behind him losing the toss when he opened the innings after tea, top scoring with 35 (5x4), alongside Dan Cole (15), Bradley Watson taking 5-13 for Whitland and Bobbie Neale 2-18 but no one could claim the cream for dismissing ‘Dai the Cat’ who was unbeaten on 6.

Lamphey II (161ao) lost their home game to Kilgetty II (163-4) by 6 wickets having elected to bat on winning the toss. James Harries (33) and Tom Colley ( 36) led the run scoring as octogenarian and former County President, Nick Evans spin in with 4-35 and skipper Dylan Phillips 2-36 for the Kingsmore men. Phillips then contributed 38 in the winning total alongside Richard Prout (36), Warren Price-Richards with 2-43 the best of the home bowlers.
