As the Haverfordwest & District Pool Season Draws to a close, Lukas Davis picked up the first individual silverware of the season with a 6-2 victory in the Under 25s Final on Tuesday 1st April 2025.
Lukas Davis, of Johnston, sealed his spot in the final with an impressive run of victories knocking out a talented array of players such as Kian Lee, Cam Mountford and Kai Sheehan. Playing in his full debut season and having just turned 16 years old, Lukas' team Legends A also narrowly missed out on promotion.
Likewise, Tyler Calveley had also racked up some impressive victories, including a good win over Kieran West in the Semi-Final.
The final was played at the Services Club, Haverfordwest and was refereed by league committee member James Waterhouse.
Whilst there was some good pool on display in parts, the match itself turned out to be a somewhat nervy affair - perhaps understandable given the players lack of experience in finals, with the game serving as a great learning experience going forward.
What was noticeable was the good manner in which the game was played, with both players appreciative of each other's good play and both very sporting in owning up to fouls.
A pivotal and unfortunate moment for Tyler came in the middle of the match when he prematurely knocked a black in to concede a frame and put Lukas 4-2 up, coming at completely the wrong time as he looked to seize momentum in the game.
The League Winners
Elsewhere in terms of team honours, the Hook Ballers were top of the tree in the Premier League, with one game left to confirm an impressive undefeated season.
In Division One, the Railway picked up the league title with the Balfour Bandits gaining promotion.
In Division Two, the RAOB B sealed top spot with the Milf B following them up.
