A young Neyland 2nds team were left stunned by a brilliant comeback from Clarbeston Roads 2nds, who came from 0-3 down to secure victory in Pembrokeshire Division Three.

With both teams enjoying good seasons and sitting in the top half, including an impressive fourth place (prior to the game) for Neyland 2nds following their promotion to the division, this always promised to be an entertaining encounter.

The two sides had met just a month before, with Neyland 2nds running out 6-2 winners in the Division Four Cup. Since then the Nomads had been out of action with four away games postponed, whilst Clarby had picked up two great results with a victory over Pembroke Borough and a point on the road against promotion chasing Goodwick United 2nds.

Neyland 2nds got off to a dream start, blitzing into a 3-0 lead with a brace from Ben Gale and a goal from Taylor Collins, who also provided the assist for Gale's first goal.

Alfie Barnett pulled one back for Clarby 2nds just before half-time.

Jack Baker then halved the deficit with a goal for the visitors in the 55th minute to make it 3-2.

Neyland held on to their lead for most of the remainder of the second half, before a late flurry from Clarby with an equaliser coming in the 88th minute through Stephen Morris.

Unfortunately for Neyland 2nds, Clarby 2nds then struck again in injury time through Jack Wood.

A tough result to take for the Nomads in what was certainly a game of two halves. The Neyland 2nds team featured five 17 year olds, two 19 year olds and a 20 year old, with an average squad age of 22.5.

Whilst overall more experienced, the visitors also had their own young talent on display including their 17 year old goalscorer Alfie Barnett.

The result sees Clarbeston Road 2nds leapfrog Neyland 2nds into fourth place, by virtue of goals scored (Clarby - 53, Neyland - 49) with equal goal difference (+5) and points (25) on the board.
