Hakin United sailed into the next round of the West Wales Cup with a victory over Swansea side Plough Colts thanks to a hat-trick from forward Shane Walsh.

The Vikings entered the competition in the second round, following their narrow defeat last season to Penlan in the final.

Leon Luby put the hosts ahead with a goal in the 27th minute thanks to an assist from Ryan Wilson and the lead was quickly doubled just two minutes later with Luby turning provider for Shane Walsh to make it two.

It wasn't until the 59th minute that Hakin increased their lead further, with Shane Walsh on the scoresheet again thanks to an assist from goalkeeper Gareth Fawcett.

Walsh then completed his hat-trick in the 67th minute with another assist for Leon Luby, who then set-up forward Callum Stannett to complete a hat-trick of assists.

The Vikings completed their scoring by adding a sixth with two substitutes combining with Ben Aldred setting up recent signing Jordan Richards.
