Goals from Shane Walsh and Alfie Stottor gave Hakin United an important victory over Carew to keep up the pressure on league rivals Goodwick United.

After back-to-back draws in the league, the Vikings knew that it was essential that they secured all three points to keep themselves in the title race.

Carew went in to the game in mixed form with only two league wins seeing them languishing just above the relegation spaces, but with back-to-back victories in the Senior Cup and West Wales Cup respectively.

Shane Walsh gave the hosts the lead in the 24th minute after being set up by Louis Thompson.

The visitors equalised just a couple of minutes later through Archie Smith, with an assist from Jonathan Bennett.

Shane Walsh then turned provider for recent signing Alfie Stottor, who restored the host's lead in the 32nd minute.

The game remained 2-1 and keeps Hakin United undefeated in the league with seven wins and three draws, two points behind leader Goodwick United in what is proving to be another closely contested title race.
