Haverfordwest fell to a heartbreaking late goal after a spirited team performance against undefeated league leaders TNS in their rescheduled JD Cymru Premier fixture on 23rd December at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.

The visitors came in to the game top of the league table with 15 wins and two draws in 17 games, beginning confidently with passing possession football.

As the first half progressed, the Bluebirds began to grow in confidence and ended the half with a number of chances with Lee Jenkins thinking he had put the hosts ahead only for the linesman to flag for offside.

The second half played out in similar fashion, with the visitors starting brightly passing the ball around well.

After strong play in the middle of the park from Kai Whitmore, Harri John found himself with the ball at the edge of the box before seeing his shot blocked by Ben Clark.

Both sides made a number of substitutes in search for a goal, with Declan McManus and Ash Baker coming on for the vistitors.

The changes paid off for TNS with Ash Baker firing home from close range after a mix-up in the box following a corner.

In search for a late equaliser, Luke Tabone got on the end of an excellent free-kick cross in to the box from Rhys Abbruzzese only to see his effort cleared off the line by TNS' Danny Davies.

The result sees Haverfordwest three points behind Caernarfon Town in their battle for a top six spot before the league cut-off, with TNS remaining top of the table having amassed an incredible 50 points from 18 points.

Next up for the Bluebirds is another home fixture on Boxing Day as they host Barry Town.
