It’s been a brilliant month for Pembrokeshire Hearing, who officially opened their new Tenby clinic on Wednesday 7th October.
The launch day saw a fantastic turnout from the local community, and the response – both in person and on social media – has been overwhelmingly positive. Connect: Pembrokeshire caught up with the Emma and Kev to find out how it’s all been going.
Congratulations on the opening! From what we could see, it looked like a brilliant day with lots of visitors. How did it go and what was the atmosphere like?
We were absolutely delighted with how the day went. It was fantastic to meet so many local people, answer questions about hearing health and introduce ourselves to the Tenby community. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, relaxed and positive throughout the day, and we were genuinely touched by the number of people who came along to support us. Opening a new clinic is always a significant milestone, and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm from the local community from day one.
The response on social media was fantastic. Have you felt that locally too? Has the Tenby community given you a warm welcome?
Absolutely. The support we’ve received on social media has been reflected in the response locally as well. From local businesses and community groups to residents popping in to say hello, we’ve been made to feel incredibly welcome. There is a real sense of community in Tenby, and we’re grateful for the encouragement and support we’ve received since announcing the clinic.
Is the Tenby clinic bringing in a whole new set of customers, or are you finding that people who were already travelling to Milford Haven can now access you much more easily in the east of the county?
It’s a combination of both. We’re already seeing people from the east of the county who were previously travelling to our Milford Haven clinic and are pleased to have a more convenient option closer to home. At the same time, the Tenby clinic is allowing us to reach new patients who perhaps hadn’t considered seeking help before due to the distance involved. Improving accessibility was one of the key reasons behind opening the clinic.
Pembrokeshire is a large county. Was reaching those in the east always something you had in mind, and when did the idea of a second clinic first come about?
Yes, improving access for people across the whole of Pembrokeshire has always been part of our long-term vision. As our patient base continued to grow, we became increasingly aware that many people in the east of the county were travelling considerable distances to see us. The idea of a second clinic developed over time as we looked at the best way to make our services more accessible while maintaining the personal, patient-focused care we’re known for.
How will the two clinics work together going forward? Do they both operate with the same range of services?
Both clinics will work closely together and offer the same high standard of independent hearing care that our patients expect. Patients can choose the location that’s most convenient for them, and both clinics provide hearing assessments, hearing aid services, ear wax removal and ongoing aftercare. Having two locations allows us to serve more of the county while maintaining the personal approach that has always been at the heart of Pembrokeshire Hearing.
Opening our Tenby clinic is an exciting new chapter for Pembrokeshire Hearing. Our goal has always been to make high-quality hearing care as accessible as possible, and we’re incredibly grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received from the local community. We look forward to serving patients across both clinics for many years to come.
