Saundersfoot (219-6) proved themselves the top dogs after flattening Burton (74ao) by 145-runs. Burton won the toss and elected to field. Tom Mansbridge (86) was the star of the batting, Danny Caine (28), Ollie Cook (20no) and Sam Franklin (20) providing solid support as Saundersfoot gave Burton more than 200 runs to chase. Jack Davies (3-54) was the best of Burtons bowlers on the day, keeping the middle order from widening the gap. Burton never really got their chase going, Jack Davies (21) and Luke Hayman (23) the only batsmen to make an impression as Matthew Phillips (3-14), Ollie Cook (3-17) and Sam Franklin (2-17) waved them away without significant resistance.

Carew (79-2) made light work of Herbrandston (77ao), ending the game within 50 overs. Herbrandston were made to bat first, getting completely decimated by the Waters family. Kerry Waters (2-25) was followed up by a match winning 7-15 by George Waters – Harry Nicholas (20) being the only batsmen to total 20 against the onslaught. The second innings was quite pedestrian as a result, an unbeaten 51 from Morgan Grieve being all that was required to see the reigning champions to victory. Harry Nicholas (1-1) and Dean John (1-24) took the two wickets their side earned.

St Ishmaels (139-6) beat out Neyland (137-8) by 4 wickets. St Ishmaels won the toss and put Neyland in to bat, a decision that bore fruit when they dismissed Neyland’s top three for a mere 30 runs. Opening bowlers Brennan Devonald (1-18) and Jonathan Pawlett (2-11) bowled efficiently, backed up by the pick of the bowlers Thomas Williams (3-30) who kept the middle order quieter than they otherwise would have been. Ross Hardy (34) top scored for Neyland, supported in his efforts by Dai Davies (22) and Jack John (14no). The second innings saw a steady chase of the total, Neyland replied to their own cheap start by dismissing both St Ishmaels openers for 4 runs, their own bowlers in Ross Hardy (2-16) and Andrew Miller (2-45) keen to make an affair of the game. St Ishmaels eventually managed to push the total over the line in the 41st over with a collective effort; Thomas Williams (23), Brennan Devonald (29), Jonathan Pawlett (35) and Phil Llewellyn (20no) all putting up critical runs.

Narberth (211-4) ended their rough run by thrashing Whitland (108-9) by 103 runs. The returning Loui Davies (78) opened impressively for Narberth, creating a platform for the likes of Lewis Hough (34) and Ben Quartermaine (35no) to put up a double-century total for their side. Wayne Howells (1-16) and Ieuan Bevan (1-49) headed a bowling attack that was ultimately unable to make a big enough dent. After teas, Ceri Davies (4-18) blunted any possible reply from Whitland, Dylan Blain (29), Tomos Jones (17) and Gethin Scourfield (16) offering some returns but not enough as Whitland were held to 108-9. Impressive economics from openers Ben Quartermaine (1-10) and Richard Howell (1-11) ensured Whitland never got close in spite of the fact that they batted the full 45 overs.

Cresselly (178-2) beat Lawrenny (173ao) by 8 wickets. Lawrenny batted first and produced a fine team effort; Troy Purslowe (35), Rhys Eynon (38), Ryan Morton (25) and Tom Cole (24) all contributed to a competitive total. Mike Shaw (4-10), Tom Arthur (3-31) and Christian Phillips (2-35) worked to make sure that Lawrenny did not get to see out their full innings. In response, Tom Murphy’s (105no) well worked century carried Cresselly home, support from Phil Williams (36) and Kyle Quartermaine (16no) guaranteeing the result. Lawrenny’s lone wicket takers were skipper Troy Purslowe (1-33) and Harry Thomas (1-25).

Division One Table (after Week 9): Saundersfoot lead on 148 points, followed by Carew (126), Neyland (117), Cresselly (116), Burton (99), Herbrandston (95), Narberth (78), St Ishmaels (64), Whitland (49) and Lawrenny (47).
