New Hedges Saundersfoot United won the Division Four Cup in style with an emphatic 7-1 victory over St Ishmaels 2nds on Thursday May 3rd 2024.

Having narrowly missed out on promotion, NHSU would have been determined to finish their season strongly with silverware.

However, it was St Ishmaels 2nds who got off to a bright start when Thomas Williams thought he had given them the lead when he got on the end of an Ethan Davies cross to put Tish 1-0 up but the goal was ruled out for offside. 

NHSU were awarded a penalty minutes later and Adam Davidson stepped up and cooly slotted it into the back of the net to make it 1-0. 

Tish found an equaliser 2 minutes after going behind when the 2 youngsters combined once again, Ethan Davies was the provider and Thomas Williams guided his header past the keeper. 

But the lead was short lived with Evan Owen putting NHSU 2-1 up from an assist by Oscar Miles a minute after conceding the equaliser. 

In the 31st minute, Captain Geoff Marsh found himself through on goal with a ball over the top from Jack Franklin and with an outstretched leg made the perfect contact with the ball to put it past the on rushing keeper to make it 3-1.

The goal mark the start of a goalscoring blitz from NHSU who certainly showed their quality on the night.

In the 36th minute, Adam Davidson grabbed his 2nd of the match with a diving header at the far post with a pin point cross from Oscar Miles. 

After 2 assists Oscar Miles got himself on the score sheet with a great strike that flew past the keeper assisted by fellow striker Adam Davidson in the 45th minute.

10 minutes into the 2nd half and Oscar Miles grabbed himself a brace with a clinical finish from another Jack Franklin assist. 

NHSU finished their scoring with a seventh goal in the 66th minute, with Evan Owen playing in Adam Davidson to complete his hat-trick.
