Goodwick United are through to the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Senior Cup Final after defeating Tenby at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium in a closely contested semi-final encounter with substitute Nathan Greene scoring the only goal of the game.

Goodwick went into the game in good form, sitting top of the Division One table and having already seen off multiple Premier League opponents in earlier rounds of the competition, including an impressive 4-0 quarter-final victory over Carew.

Their opponents Tenby went into the game as the only side outside of Division One remaining in the competition. In their quarter-final, they defeated Camrose 2-0 at home.

The first half finished goalless with little action to report but with underdogs Tenby more than holding their own. Dylan Noot was strong in the net for Tenby too when called into action on a couple of occasions including with his feet for a one-on-one save.

Goodwick were forced into an early substitution with top goalscorer Rhys Dalling coming off for Nathan Greene in the 15th minute.

Tenby made a change at the interval with Harri Phillips coming on for Chris Millward after he received a yellow card.

The second half started more brightly with the opening ten minutes bringing plenty of action, seeing Goodwick stalwart James Gwilt make a strong double save and another strong stop from the legs of Tenby goalkeeper Dylan Noot from a Rhys Jones strike.

Scott Ferney then hit the post for Tenby after a ball was finely slid through to him. Tenby made another change with Rhys Morgan coming on for Jacob Hipkiss

Goodwick responded with a strong chance of their own, with Dylan Noot pulling off another fine stop for Tenby after impressive skill on the byline from Jake Smith whose cross was then met, to force the save from Noot.

Goodwick made another attacking substitution in the 78th minute with recent signing Ivan Watkins coming on for Jonny Horgan.

The game's opening goal finally arrived when Tenby's goalkeeper made a costly error, attempting to play the ball up the field from the right-back position only to send it to the feet of early substitute Nathan Greene who slotted the ball into the empty net for Goodwick in the 79th minute.

Tenby almost hit back a few minutes later, with Scott Ferney scraping the post with a bent shot after some nice team football.

Tenby made their third and final change with Jack Tucker coming on for Ricki Morgan, with Goodwick made also making theirs with Jake Smith coming off for Sion O'Sullivan as they held on to secure a 1-0 victory.

Goodwick will face either last season's finalists Kilgetty or Monkton Swifts, with their semi-final taking place on Wednesday 29th March, 7pm at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.
